Banda, Feb 27 (IANS): 4 villagers have been arrested for searching a blackbuck in Tindwari forest space of Banda district.

The accused had set a lure within the discipline in Ghazni village right here. On a selected tip-off, the forest division staff raided the spot together with the police and arrested 4 individuals.

A case has been registered towards them beneath the Wildlife Safety Act.

Station home officer (SHO) Arjun Singh stated one Ram Ratan Nishad, a resident of Benda Ghat Laha Kyotra Dera, was searching blackbuck deer by setting a lure within the Ghazni village, together with one Balvier, Ramkesh and one different. They have been arrested from the spot.

The forest division staff additionally recovered the web, axe and carcass of a deer from the spot.

The SHO stated {that a} case has been registered towards all of the 4 on the premise of the criticism of the ranger of the forest division.

“There are about 600 blackbuck deer within the Tindwari space. It’s a protected animal. Their searching is prohibited. A case has been filed towards the poachers beneath the Wildlife Safety Act 1972.
